Reducing Filtration Costs Part 1

Filters and strainers play a vital part in the protection of expensive downstream equipment such as pumps and heat exchangers. Undersizing a filter or strainer can result in very high operating costs (OPEX) and in the worst case costly operating issues with downstream equipment.

By undersizing filters and strainers, the operators are not able to benefit from the full potential of the filter elements. Many filter companies see this as a means to sell more filtration equipment and filter elements.

We always try to engage in an active dialogue with our customers to ensure that we understand the purpose of the filter and ensure that it is adequately sized for each process. By correctly sizing a filter we avoid having to change out filter elements before they are fully loaded with solids. We help to provide lower operating costs and reduce the waste impact to the environment.
